Welcome to The Way They Play. Here are a few things to know about using our website, sharing our content and getting in touch.

About our website and services

We share information about playwork, our services and projects. It's general information, rather than advice for a particular child or setting. Before trying an activity, consider the people, surroundings, supervision and risks involved.

Get in touch to discuss how we can help, including availability and fees. An enquiry doesn't confirm a booking; we'll agree on services, payment and cancellation arrangements separately.

Sharing our content

You're welcome to browse and share links to our pages. Our original text, photos, illustrations and branding belong to The Way They Play, unless stated otherwise. Material we use with permission, including partner logos, quotations and licensed images, belongs to its respective owners.

Please don't copy, republish or redistribute our images or content—including for media use—without prior written permission, unless Australian law allows it. This includes news stories, broadcasts, social media, websites and promotional materials. Giving credit alone isn't permission, and the website isn't a media library.

To request permission, email thewaytheyplay@outlook.com with the material you'd like to use, where it will appear and any planned changes. Please wait for written permission before using it. We may decline, especially where children's privacy or wellbeing could be affected.

Don't remove credits or suggest that we or anyone pictured endorse something without permission. We can only grant rights we hold; you may also need permission from others. Nothing here overrides exceptions under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), including applicable fair dealing exceptions.

Want a photo removed?

If you're uncomfortable with a photo of yourself on this website, please ask us to remove it. Parents and guardians can also ask on behalf of their child, even if permission was previously given. You don't need to explain your discomfort.

Email thewaytheyplay@outlook.com with the page link and a description of the photo. We'll handle your request sensitively and arrange removal as soon as reasonably practicable once identified. Our photo-removal process explains more.

If something is incorrectly credited, infringes your copyright or raises another concern, let us know so we can look into it.

Using the site respectfully

Please don't misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or use it to harass people pictured here. Links to other websites are provided for context or convenience; we don't control their content or privacy practices, and a link isn't an endorsement.

Your rights

We take care with what we publish, but information can change or contain errors. Please check with us before relying on it for a decision about our services. The site may occasionally be unavailable while we update it.

These terms don't take away any consumer guarantees, remedies or other rights protected by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. They don't release us from responsibilities the law places on us.

Questions and updates

Contact Renae at thewaytheyplay@outlook.com with questions. Our Privacy policy explains how we look after your information.

We'll update these terms when needed, using the date above to show the latest version. Changes apply to future website use and don't retrospectively alter agreed services or permissions already granted.

Queensland and applicable Australian Commonwealth laws govern these terms, without limiting any mandatory protections or your rights to bring a claim in an available court or tribunal.
